STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF FIXED JACKETS PLATFORMS WITH SACS

COURSE DURATION:           5 weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
START DATE:                      13th April 2013
END DATE:                          12th May 2012
COURSE FEE:                      N65, 000 per participant.
CLASS SIZE:                         Minimum of 5 persons and maximum of 8 persons per class.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will review the fundamentals behind offshore structures with the overall objective to provide participants with an understanding of the design and construction of offshore structure using Structural Analysis Computer System (SACS) software. SACS is the most comprehensive design and analysis package offered to both the offshore and civil engineering industries. Participants are expected to have basic structural design engineering knowledge.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

On successful completion of this hands-on training, delegates should be able to:
1. Successfully carry out linear static analysis of structural elements mostly encountered in fixed jacket platform design.
2 Select the best structural framing arrangement for a platform to be analyzed and designed
3 Able to develop models of offshore topsides using SACS
4 Carry out structural assessment of existing structure

COURSE CERTIFICATE
Gold Gate Engineering Institute certificate will be issued to all attendees completing minimum of 75% of the total tuition hours of the course.

PRACTICAL MANUAL DESIGN OF RCC STRUCTURE

There is a huge gap between information gained by civil engineers in higher institutions of learning and core practical knowledge which is expected of professionals in the industry. However, during the reinforced concrete design (RCC) intensive training program, the participant(s) would learn all the Fundamental concepts of Latest Structural engineering design techniques of analyzing and designing various structural elements in accordance with relevant codes of practice.

If you are not quite competent in practical engineering calculations, the global elastic analysis of indeterminate structures then you DEFINITELY need this training.

Recently there has been a lot of growing emphasis on the use of finite element techniques and based applications in carrying out structural analysis. This is totally acceptable, so long as the engineer is not using the application to do something he doesn't understand. This course covers practical manual calculations to ensure that the client understands the fundamentals of what he does.

Course Outline:
  • Fundamentals, Code Requirements for structural Designing of low rise & Multistory Buildings
  • Concept of Designing,
  • Deciding Columns/Beams/Slabs locations,
  • Orientation of Columns,
  • Different Load estimations,
  • Different Types of Slabs/ Beams/ Columns/ Footings.

Program Objective:
  • To understand in details, cogent Structural Design Concepts
  • To Fill in the Gap between Theoretical & Practical Knowledge
  • To understand the step-by-step methods of Structural analysis
  • To understand the Analysis and Design of Multistory Buildings & Commercial Complexes
  • To Realize Every Civil Engineer’s Dream of becoming a Structural Designer

Who should attend?
  • Diploma/B.SC/B.ENG./B.TECH Civil Engineers
  • Students/Fresher’s/Experienced
